Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Neeti Mohan spills the beans on Kumar Sanu’s food ritual on the sets
Zee TV is bringing back its iconic singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, with a new season that celebrates the depth, diversity and authenticity of Indian music. Set against the backdrop of ‘Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan’, the show brings together musical stalwarts Shankar Mahadevan, Kumar Sanu, Neeti Mohan and Javed Ali as the Gurus, with Shreyas Talpade taking on the role of the host. The upcoming season was unveiled at a grand launch and press conference in Mumbai on 16th September, offering a glimpse into its expansive musical world ahead of its premiere.
While the show promises to celebrate the many sounds and traditions of India, the camaraderie among the Gurus has also been adding plenty of warmth and fun to the experience. Neeti Mohan recently shared a delightful anecdote from the sets in Kolkata, revealing how Kumar Sanu’s love for food often turns into a treat for everyone around him.
Speaking about her experience of shooting with the musical legends, Neeti Mohan says, “I feel extremely happy and grateful to have got the opportunity to work alongside legends like Shankar Mahadevan ji, Kumar Sanu ji and Javed Ali ji. I’m having a blast shooting this whole thing and everyone is putting so much hard work into making this season so special. But I'd like to share a very interesting and fun fact from our times on the sets. Kumar Sanu ji is a big foodie and he always makes sure that everyone around him is well fed, that too with the best delicacies of Kolkata. He brings delicious Kolkata dishes to the sets and even during short breaks in-between shoots, he would pass the food under the table and make sure everyone got to enjoy it. He brings this jhalmuri from Kolkata itself which is loved by everyone.”
Adding to the scale of the season is a musical setup featuring over 100 live musicians and a large chorus group, complemented by a spectacular 360-degree set designed to bring ‘Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan’ to life. With its focus on live music, traditional sounds and the distinct musical identity of India, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2026 promises an expansive celebration of the country’s rich musical legacy.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa premieres on 19th September and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM on Zee TV, with streaming available on Hindi ZEE5.
